I'm not interested in sampling. I would like to port the numerous sample CDs I have to Yamaha and keep them there. I tried transplanting it to Kontak, but it wasn't the sound I wanted. I was quite satisfied when converting the sample CD with the K2700. However, the K2700 has a few problems and you can only use the sound you want with one channel. Yamaha is the perfect synthesizer machine. You can assign all effects to each channel and use it as 16 channels. I like the sound texture that can only be achieved with legacy sample CDs of the past. To be precise, I want to use it as a sample player. The capacity of 3.9GB is too insufficient.I really don't think Yamaha will go down the road of adding a sampling function to the Montage M anytime soon. I am sure that during their market research over the years they have found that most people never use on-board sampling. A computer is a far more powerful and versatile tool for sampling.
Also they already have a very good software sampler in the form of Steinberg HALion.
Perhaps a few years down the road we may see something but I would not bet on it.
