First of all, thank you to everyone who responded![👊]()

This is a really fine forum! Absolutely!
Just a few more questions and then I should be able to make a choice.
I did a little research. Thanks to your help I was able to identify two categories. Loop based and sequential DAWs. Techno and loop based looks reasonable at first, as some people have suggested to me here. However, firstly I tend to do techno remixes of “normal” songs. And secondly, I want to be prepared for any eventuality. So sequential.
Next question: what do I need and what don't I?
Money plays a role. It's a hobby. So I should know what I specifically need. Unfortunately, I have no idea here either. After the last few years I can say that 16 tracks are basically enough for me.
Many thanks to the answers regarding the sounds. Result: VST (3) instruments. And this is where the DAW variants come into play.
What information tells me how many sounds/VSTs/synths I can include in my mix?
The core question is whether I can cover all of my tracks with external sounds. If I think hard, external sounds on 4 tracks would be sufficient in a pinch. Unfortunately, I don't understand the connections and integration.
So what information do I have to pay attention to in the variants?
I also read that Pro Tool doesn't like to provide (bug) updates. Of course, this is also information that influences my decision.
Thank you very much![🖐️]()
