Can you explain what you mean by 'immediately noticed? I'm guessing you mean that you don't hear any when you just play keys.I recently purchased a 2nd hand Montage and immediately noticed that there are no preset arps for any of the performances.
A great many of the preset performances have arps. But those arps won't play if the master Arp switch is OFF.
So the first thing to do is to turn the ARP switch on the front panel to ON. Then play and hold a key.
Arps can also be set to 'Hold' but if they aren't you need to hold the key down for the arp to play and it will stop playing when you release the key.
1. select Category Search
2. highlight a performance
3. look at the main panel ARP button.
4. the button will NOT be lit if there are no arps available - pressing the button will have no effect
5. the button will be DIM red if there are arps available
6. press a DIM red arp button to turn it BRIGHT red - play and hold a key to hear the arp.
Try it with the the 'CFX + FM EP 2' performance. Notice the DIM red ARP light.
Now edit part 1 (part 2 doesn't have any) and select the Arpeggio -> Individual tab and you will see the 8 arpeggios that part 1 has available.
You will also see an 'Arp Master' switch (page 76 of the reference manual). That switch will also toggle the
front panel switch. You can highlight any one of the 8 arps and then play/hold a key to hear it.
On the Arpeggio -> Common tab you will find the parameters you can set. Notice the 'Hold' parameter. Set it to ON and you just press a key and the arp will continue even after you let the key up.
It is NOT possible to delete or edit the presets.Or did the previous owner erase them all? And if so can I get them back by initialising the factory setting? And if so how do I do it?
