Issue was clock related. Switched to another interface, then back, and now all is well.

Well that is interesting.

Any idea why switching back and forth would have address a clock related issue?

Please post the details of your setup:
1. os name and version
2. cakewalk version
3. USB driver being used
4. what other 'interface' did you switch to.

It might be important to find out just what the real issue is. It could crop up on other systems without people realizing it.
