Well there are young people who never experienced vinyl, cassette or even cd so the whole thing is new to them and they are probably curious in what their parents used to listen to music on etc.I don’t know if it’s me, but I really do not get the Renaissance of these flawed media?
And then there is our own generations, re-living our youth in some ways. Also there is a case for CD players in that unlike streaming or most streaming anyway, it is a lossless form of media. So you are hearing what was intended. Most streaming services, even Tidal with its 24 bit, 192 kHz mode still uses compression. Deezer doesn't which I am trialling at the moment. It streams in 16 bit 44.1 kHz so, CD quality.
Some argue there is a certain warmth to physical media such as cd and vinyl that is often lost through streaming. I am not so convinced about that but, if you have the space and you like the whole nostalgia aspect of seperates etc then, why not?
