I'm new to these forums and new to a SY99 which I have to say is the biggest synth I've ever seen in person that isn't also a digital piano! A beast.
I am going through a list of items for a full refurb and I noticed this large black stain on the DM2 board, along with a terribly corroded cap. This is C392, a leg of which was not even connected I think. I will replace with same 220uf 25V type. Still, this is a huge mess. I read on a different thread this cap may be responsible for low-output, which is what I'm experiencing, so I'm hoping this fixes it.
My question is: there is some gunk around Q210 (right next to D204), which is a type 2SA1115 transistor. I can not find a recommended replacement in my googling and wondering if anyone has a recommendation on a modern version of this one? Thank you in advance!
Attached a photo of the stain. Looks like someone spilled India ink
My planned fixes/upgrades - display, switches (some do not work), floppy drive to usb Gotek, thorough cleaning, modern C14 inlet w/fuse. Any other recommended modifications or 'good to knows'? I'd rather not have to recap the boards completely...none of the other caps have leaked like C392, that I can see.
