TM
Hi TM --

Thanks!

One of my biggest complaints about MIDI controllers is lack of imagination. I just played around with some Akai's and an Arturia Keystep wondering if I could send MIDI notes to them and have the arpeggiator play. Nope, no joy.

The el-cheapo Akai LPK25 MK2 worked OK through a DoReMi MIDI host to 5-pin DIN MIDI. My test target is MODX6 and 5-pin seemed the surest for communication. The LPK25 is tiny and could arpeggiate notes on MODX6 when playing on the LPK25's tiny keyboard. Didn't do a thing with incoming MIDI notes from MODX6 ...

Arturia Keystep 32 has both 5-pin MIDI IN and OUT, so no need for the DoReMi. Still, no joy sending notes from MODX6 to the Keystep.

The LPK25 MK2 is tres cheap. The Keystep is just a touch more expensive, but its arpeggiator is more capable and you get knobs to control rate, time step, etc.

If you already have the microKorg, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. :)

Take care -- pj
