It's true that both MODX(+) and Montage do not have a brightness/contrast setting for the display. I guess the new Montage M doesn't as well.
I have both a Montage and a MODX+ and while you'd expect both screens to be the exact same part, apparently they are not. The MODX one is more washed out so to speak and brighter than the Montage. You just have to live with it unfortunately.
