I know that my experience will not solve your problem, but I use TWO FC7 controller pedals with my MODX7+. One is plugged into jack 1 and the other into jack 2. One controls the volume and the other controls the magic knob. These are the default settings.

Although not directly applicable, I also have an FC7 that controls the volume of my Genos2.

I disconnected one of my pedals from the MODXa+ and measured the resistance. The resistance between tip and sleeve is constant at 46.2 ohms independent of pedal position. The resistance between ring and sleeve is 90.3 ohms in the up position and 46.3 ohms in the down position. Thus, as the pedal moves the resistance between tip and ring moves from 46.2 to essentially zero.

See if your FC7 pedal behaves similarly. If it does not, it might mean that the rheostat in the pedal might have become dirty with use. If so, you can try cleaning the rheostat or replace it with one of similar characteristics.

If your FC7 does appear to be working properly, it might be that the settings in the MODX+ are not set properly to achieve the affects you desire. Check out this forum post that might be helpful.
